About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Fire Safety to join our team. This is a crucial role to provide compliance in all areas where fire safety/risks may impact our tenants, staff or visitors. The role will support the overall delivery of the Associations safety compliance and raise awareness throughout the Organisation of Fire safety.
The main duties of the role are:
- To ensure the Association complies with legislative and regulatory requirements such as the Fire Safety Regulations 2022 and the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Promoting a positive Health and Safety / Fire Safety culture for staff, visitors and tenants. Providing advice, guidance, reporting and training
- To anticipate, recognise, and evaluate emerging changes in legislation/risks, with a view to design and develop Fire Safety/Health and Safety management plan.
- To support the development of new schemes, and leading when required, with the fire strategy advice.
- Undertake FRA’s, maintaining comprehensive records of assessments, follow up actions and liaise with relevant teams to ensure service delivery.
- Investigate any fire related business incidents providing specialist advice and support to residents, staff and external parties.

About You

The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Fire Safety/Engineering, Building Science and/or Fire Protection Association or Confederation of Fire Protection Association diploma in Fire Prevention (or equivalent)
- A strong knowledge of all relevant UK Fire Safety regulations and guidance
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Fire Safety or engineering
- Good communication at all levels and an understanding of technical information.
- Experience of developing fire strategies and passive fire protection surveys.
- Effective use of Microsoft Office suite of programmes and use of ICT.
- Previous Line Manager experience
- A full driving licence is essential as the candidate will need to travel to other sites as required.
